We look forward to showing off the Old Governor’s Mansion, also known as “The House That Huey Built.”

Walk-ins are welcome! We offer free, self—guided tours. Maps and instructions on a virtual tour are available upon arrival at the front desk.

Request a Tour

To request a guided tour for a group or for a field trip, please fill out the “Request a Tour” form. Guided tours take approximately 30 minutes to an hour, but you are always welcome to self-guide at your own pace. 

Photo Shoots

Photography sessions, including bridal photographs, must be scheduled in advance and are allowed in designated areas on the first and second floors.  Photographers and their clients will be required to work around visitors, exhibit items and items set-up for events.  Photos must be taken during regular operating hours and must be completed during a 2-hour appointment.  There is a $200 fee for photo sessions and payment arrangements must be made in advance. Photographs taken only on the grounds are free of charge but must be scheduled in advance and must be taken during regular business hours.

Louisiana’s Old State Capitol

Please also consider a visit to our companion museum, the Old State Capitol. Located on the same side of the street and just three blocks toward the river, the Old State Capitol also offers FREE admission. Note that the OSC has different operating times.
