The Old Governor’s Mansion has been the stage for weddings and receptions, rites of passage, and corporate and nonprofit meetings and events. Our location on North Boulevard is accessible, with parking right next door. We can fit your plans, and your budget - all in an enchanting setting.

The mansion is located in downtown Baton Rouge, where the city was founded near the Mississippi River. Baton Rouge Metro Airport is just minutes away. Whether you are hosting a wedding, social event or fundraiser, the venue is within easy walking distance to places of worship, multiple hotels, and dozens of restaurants for festivities before and after your event.

Some couples have married at our companion museum and event venue - the Old State Capitol - and strolled three blocks over to the mansion for a reception.

Details

Capacity: 300 maximum (utilizing the mansion as well as the Rose Garden and outdoor space).

Cost: A complete fee schedule can be viewed in our Guidelines and Policies packet and can be discussed in detail during a venue tour.  

Rooms: We are flexible. You can arrange to use the East Room (ballroom), dining room, library, and Rose Garden. We also have a beautiful bride’s room for you and your wedding party to use.

Parking: For an additional fee, a surface lot adjacent to the mansion can be reserved for your guests. There is also plenty of street parking available – free after 6:00 p.m. and all weekend. 

Catering and more: The mansion does not provide catering, entertainment, decor items, linens or tables and chairs. We are happy to work with any outside vendor you choose.
