Admission to the mansion is always FREE!

Walk-ins are welcome! We offer self-guided tours, Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Maps and instructions on a virtual tour are available upon arrival at the front desk. This allows you to tour the mansion at your own pace.

To request a guided tour for a group or field trip, please fill out the tour request form below. Group tours and field trips last approximately 30 minutes to an hour.

To request a tour and venue walk through for a potential event, please fill out a tour request form or call the event coordinator at 225-342-9778. Event tours last approximately 30 minutes.

Guidelines for Field Trips

The Old Governor’s Mansion is open to the public so we ask all guests to be courteous to other visitors. Guests cannot run, be overly noisy, or bring food or gum into the museum.

Groups exceeding 30 persons will be split into smaller groups for touring and groups exceeding 50 persons will be asked to split into two or more separate tour times.  

At least one adult chaperone is needed for every 15 students.
